Cause |
Solution |

| Scratching | Using an improper finish or ZING Floor Coating for the amount of traffic present. Not dust mopping often enough. Not cleaning & turning entrance carpet mats often enough. |
Use ZING Floor Coating for periodic maintenance & ZING Floor Coating + Plus for routine maintenance. Treat dust mop with ZING Dust Control & mop 1 or 2 times daily. Every 4 - 6 hours, turn entrance carpet mats 180 degrees & sweep clean toward building interior. |
| Heavy Stuck Dirt On Most Floors | Not using ZING CPC when burnishing.
Use a 3" ribbon of ZING CPC to burnish 1000 sq. ft. Each time ZING CPC is applied, it will remove the previously applied film of ZING CPC with the stuck dirt in it. |
| Embedded Dirt is Present In High Traffic Areas | Not using ZING Floor Prep often enough. |
Use ZING Floor Prep weekly to remove embedded dirt from the pores of the floor finish or ZING Floor Coatings. This process will not remove any of the floor finish or ZING Floor Coatings. |
| Edge Build-up | Applying floor finish or ZING Floor Coating to edges each time applied. | Coat edges, first & last coat only. All other coats, stay 1/2 tile from the edge. | |||
| Hazy Films & Swirls | Burnishing with a dirty pad. Using too much ZING CPC. Using too coarse a burnishing pad. Using a floor finish that is not designed to be burnished consistently. |
Use ZING Floor Prep to clean dirty pads. Spray mist the pad & wash clean with cold water. Use a 3" ribbon of ZING CPC to burnish 1000 sq. ft. (more is not better). Use a ZING Time-Saver Hair Pad for all burnishing. Use ZING Floor Coating + Plus where consistent burnishing is required. After stripping, apply ZING Stone & Tile Seal prior to ZING Floor Coating + Plus. |
| Burn Marks | Stopping machine while the pad is still turning on the floor. |
Tilt machine back slightly before stopping. Do not place on floor, until pads stops. Remove burn marks using center of ZING Time Saver Hair Pad & ZING Floor Prep. Spray directly on burn marks & rub by hand using center of pad. |
| Excessive Finish Build-up | Recoating too often. | Use permanent marking pen to mark a layer number in traffic lanes, on top of each coat, after it dries. Recoat traffic area only, when a number disappears. | |||
